Once again, INKBIRD has sent me one of their products for review, this time their IBS-TH3 WIFI temperature and humidity gauge. Below I have my YouTube video for this review, and below that, my written review.
The first thing I noticed upon opening the box was how well the product was packaged. The packing foam was tight, yet coushioning, so the box would have to undergo a lot more than usual shaking during shipping to sustain any damage to the device (i.e., the box would need to be completely crushed, or be exposed to water or extreme temperatures.). The packaging may seem like a small factor, but it is the first step to ensuring that the device is working properly when it gets to you.
The next thing I noticed was the device's compact size. Just looking at it, I'd give it the dimensions of about 3x3x.5 inches, which is, honestly, the perfect size for something like this, just for general purposes. I mean, you may want smaller or larger ones for more specialized applications, but as an all-purpose device the size is perfect.
After I took the device out of the packaging and read the manual (which, by the way, is very easy to read and is very clear on what you need to do to connect the device to your phone), I started the connection process. In the user's manual, there is a QR code to download the INKBIRD app. Simply scan the code, and download the app.
As far as the app itself, I noticed how easy it is to navigate and use. It is very simple, not to the point of being almost pointless, but just to the point where anyone would be able to easily navigate it.
The first device I tried was an iPhone 7, which was running iOS 15.7.1. I was unable to connect the devices, which I assume was because I had not updated the iPhone since it was purchased. The second device I tried was an iPhone 13, which was running iOS 18.6.1. I was able to connect that one with very little difficulty. After that, it was very simple to review the temperature that the device was reading.
From what I could tell, the device was very accurate, and at the very least it was no less accurate than the user's manual stated it would be.
So, overall, I'm rating this device 5/5 stars. Good job, INKBIRD, on a great product at a great price.
